The brain is represented by maze-patterned fabric shaped like a hat, with a black pocket to explore.
Why? The mind is the most powerful pleasure organ, yet we often carry beliefs and definitions that limit our capacity for pleasure. This design invites curiosity and investigation into how our thoughts shape our experiences.
A beach ball, symbolizing playfulness, fits inside the brain. Why? Play is an essential part of pleasure. Choosing to engage with life playfully helps us stay present and open to joy.
The model includes representations of both the dorsal and ventral vagal nerves.
Why? This serves as a starting point for discussing the parasympathetic nervous system and how it influences our ability to feel good in our bodies.
The ventral vagus supports connection, relaxation, and safety ("rest and digest"), while the dorsal vagus responds to stress, triggering withdrawal and protection ("freeze"). Understanding these states helps us navigate pleasure with greater awareness.
The pudendal nerve, part of the voluntary (somatic) nervous system, is also included. Why? The pudendal nerve plays a crucial role in arousal, as its active engagement enhances sensation and responsiveness in the body.
All components of the 4D Pleasure Anatomy Model are housed within a vase-shaped apron.
Why? The vase represents deep, intentional breathing—filling the body from the pelvic floor up to the lungs and releasing from top to bottom. This rhythmic flow of breath is the foundation of sensing and feeling within the body, reconnecting us to pleasure through breath awareness.
The heart is represented by red fabric lining the inside of the brain, symbolizing the deep connection between the two. This design highlights the concept of heart-brain coherence—a state where the heart and brain sync up through steady breath, aligned emotions, and balanced thoughts. When in harmony, this connection enhances focus, reduces stress, and fosters a sense of calm and control.
This relationship is strengthened by the vagus nerve, which links the heart and brain to the body’s pleasure systems.
The Brain-Heart Beach Ball fits within the basin of the pelvis, reinforcing the connection between heart, mind, and sexuality. True, connected pleasure isn’t just about sensation—it’s about presence, emotion, and the integration of the whole self.
Taking the time to connect with the heart allows for deeper, more meaningful pleasure experiences.
Often called the second brain, the digestive system is represented by a dual-sided design—one side featuring a soft, fuzzy blanket for warmth and comfort, the other displaying the anatomically accurate placement of the small and large intestines.
Why? Gut health plays a crucial role in overall well-being, including our ability to experience pleasure. A balanced digestive system supports nervous system regulation, hormone production, and circulation, all of which contribute to sensation and sexual vitality. When the gut is healthy, the body is better equipped to access relaxation, connection, and pleasure.
The anus is designed with two sphincters and a functional connection to the colon, this part of the model uses thoughtful fabric choices to encourage open, comfortable conversations about anal pleasure and safety.
Why? Talking about this area of the body can feel awkward or taboo, but understanding its anatomy is essential for informed, safe, and pleasurable experiences. The model provides a non-intimidating way to explore these topics with curiosity and clarity. By normalizing discussion, it encourages informed choices and a deeper understanding of the body.
The bones of the pelvis—including the ilium, pubis, sacrum, and coccyx—are crafted from fabric and fasten together with velcro, allowing for interactive exploration.
Why? The skeletal structure provides the foundation for stability, helping you feel grounded, supported, and connected to your body. When aligned and at ease, the bones enable deep, unrestricted breathing and fluid movement, both of which enhance physical comfort and amplify pleasure.
Though often overlooked, healthy bones quietly sustain us, making everyday movements—whether standing tall or resting deeply—sources of subtle satisfaction and embodied presence.
The glutes play a crucial role in core stability, working alongside deep abdominal and pelvic muscles to keep the pelvis steady and support the spine during movement. A strong, balanced core helps prevent pain and discomfort, allowing for greater ease in motion, deeper relaxation, and a more embodied experience of pleasure.
The model includes a subtle representation of connective tissue in the pelvis, with the pubic symphysis linking the left and right pubic bones.
Why? Connective tissue is an often-overlooked yet essential part of the body’s communication system. It forms a vast network that links organs, muscles, and nerves, transmitting signals like tension, pressure, and inflammation to help the brain interpret what’s happening inside.
Think of it as an intricate web that keeps every part of you in conversation, quietly facilitating movement, sensation, and overall body awareness.
The pelvic muscles tell two distinct yet interconnected stories, varying in structure between male and female anatomy. Both versions are included in the model, with each muscle layer sewn in different shades of denim to highlight their unique functions and the way they work together.
At the deepest layer, the levator ani muscles form a bowl-like structure that supports the pelvic organs. These muscles can be difficult to visualize, but the model provides a clear guide to help isolate them, demonstrating how they stabilize the pelvic area and contribute to both function and pleasure.
The middle layer, including the transverse and ischiocavernosus muscles, plays a crucial role in organ support and urinary continence, which directly impacts sensation. This layer also reveals the placement of the crus of the clitoris among the ischiocavernosus muscles, offering insight into how these structures contribute to pleasure—and, unfortunately, how dysfunction can lead to discomfort.
The surface layer features the bulbospongiosus muscle and the anal sphincter, sometimes referred to as the "love muscle." Though largely atrophied in humans, the bulbospongiosus can be intentionally engaged to enhance dexterity and sensation. By isolating this layer, the model creates an approachable way to explore the role of these muscles, including discussions around anal pleasure.
The perineum is highlighted in the model with flexible wire rods to represent areas of tension and a small pocket to indicate the presence of erectile tissue. The perineum is densely packed with nerve endings, making it an often-overlooked source of pleasure. At the same time, excessive tension in this area can contribute to discomfort, emphasizing the importance of balance between relaxation and strength for overall pelvic health.
This multi-layered approach helps illuminate the complexity of the pelvic muscles, creating a deeper understanding of how they shape sensation, function, and pleasure.
OUTER LABIA
The outer labia (labia majora) are depicted as a zipped-up structure, sparking discussion around arousal and consent. These folds act as protective cushions, regulating temperature and absorbing impact while also containing glands that contribute to natural lubrication. Packed with nerve endings, they are a source of pleasure and play a crucial role in sexual response.
INNER LABIA
The inner labia (labia minora) are represented by three interchangeable sets of varying shapes and sizes, emphasizing the natural diversity of bodies. Far more than just skin, the inner labia are densely packed with blood vessels and nerve endings, swelling and changing color during arousal. Their unique form helps protect the vaginal and urethral openings while offering an array of sensory experiences.
VESTIBULE
The vestibule, adorned with intricate beadwork, highlights the network of glands and tissues that contribute to sensation and lubrication. This area includes key structures like:
BARTHOLIN'S GLANDS
Bartholin’s glands, which secrete natural lubrication to ease penetration.
URETHRAL OPENING
The urethral opening and paraurethral glands (Skene’s glands), sometimes called the female prostate. These glands contribute to lubrication and female ejaculation, making them an often-overlooked source of pleasure.
CUV COMPLEX: Clitoris, Urethra, and Vagina
The model captures the full extent of the female erectile system, which extends far beyond the visible clitoral glans. The clitoris is represented as a playful bell with colorful, knitted "legs" (crura), while the vestibular bulbs and urethral sponge are crocheted and snap together, demonstrating how these structures interconnect.
A pocket with a walnut shell represents the G-Pad area, reinforcing that internal pleasure is often a result of pressure against erectile tissue, rather than direct vaginal penetration.
The V of the CUV stands for Vagina of course. There is so much to talk about that the inside of the vagina is made out of black, sparkly material to represent the vastness of possibility. The vagina is crafted from stretchy fabric to reflect its dynamic nature—elastic, responsive, and deeply connected to arousal.
Understanding this powerhouse network of erectile tissue is essential for fully warming up the female body. Pleasure takes knowledge, patience, and a willingness to explore beyond surface-level assumptions.
CERVIX, UTERUS, AND LIGAMENTS
The cervix is modeled with two sphincters—the external os (facing the vagina) and the internal os (leading into the uterus). It’s not just a structural barrier; it’s a highly responsive organ that can be a source of pleasure or discomfort, depending on individual sensitivity. It also plays a role in fertility, producing mucus that changes throughout the menstrual cycle.
The uterus is an incredibly dynamic organ, contracting during orgasm, menstruation, and labor. These contractions can intensify pleasure, facilitate sperm movement, and contribute to the rhythmic waves of sensation experienced during orgasm.
Finally, the ligaments (suspensory, round, and cardinal) are represented to showcase their essential role in mobility, stability, and sensation. The suspensory ligament supports the ovaries and maintains blood flow, the round ligament helps position the uterus (sometimes causing sharp pain when stretched), and the cardinal ligament provides deep pelvic support to prevent prolapse. These structures help maintain balance and function within the reproductive system.
Together, these interconnected systems form a breathtakingly intricate network, designed not just for reproduction but for deep, varied, and expansive pleasure.
VULVA
The vulva is represented by luxurious purple silk velvet, inviting a conversation about touch and sensuality. Our sense of pleasure is rooted in sensation, and the vulva’s rich network of nerve endings makes it highly responsive to touch, temperature, and pressure.

Talk about What’s needed for real, lasting healing and transformation
If you're feeling anxious about connecting with your body, I can offer you these promises:
I won't see you as broken, only powerful. My job is to help you stay out of your story. We get clear on where you want to go, where you are now and the steps that can help you find your way. My training involves an in-depth understanding of guiding premises, a creative process, a roadmap for transforming emotions, a conflict process, a reparenting technique, plus movement, meditation and breathing techniques to get clients into their bodies.
We will only go as fast as your slowest part. And sometimes, you will override that slow part only to find yourself out of balance again. That is cause for celebration because that’s how you will find your way.
Even though so much of this training is about sensuality and rediscovering ourselves as sexual beings, I can’t remember ever talking to my teacher, Dr. Saida Désilets about how I "do" sex; either with myself or in relationship.
I understand now that the main focus of this training is intimacy, which may or may not include sex. Life provides enough scenarios full of emotions to unravel. In order to grow erotically, our emotional capacity needs to expand to hold this energy. Exploring erotic sensation naturally exposes our most tender emotional wounds.
For these reasons, it’s crucial to lean into embodiment and attunement, and that's what I'm here to help you do.

test your sex ed knowledge
In the second pandemic winter, I experienced profound changes that were interfering with my functioning as a health care worker, mother and spouse. The one thing that has, in retrospect, made the most impact for me was studying the Jade Egg Essentials with Lesley Joiner.
Because of the [course work] and group sessions provided by Lesley, I was able to awaken "extra energy", enough to initiate a self-care plan to feel strong and capable again, and get back on track with emotional self-regulation, intentionally making space for fun and pleasure.
Lesley's lived experience, education and absolute passion for this critical work clearly inspire her to provide a unique and immensely empowering client experience.
NOT ONCE DID I FEEL ANY JUDGMENT.
[Lesley] helped to show me how to redefine crude, narrow, and conservative terms and definitions with a different perspective that harnesses a kinder, more meaningful insight to taboo topics that carry an unjust societal shame.
In the beginning, I bounced plenty of questions around the topic of sex and relationships, both inside and outside of the bedroom. Not once did I feel any unwillingness to share, as Lesley creates such a safe and warm space for learning and healing.
